My sister, Maria Crastro Dominguez, is a renown poet with numerous awards and publications.
My interpretation of her poem, Hotel Solitude. in picutres.
I wondered if when she looked at my pictures in respones to her words, if they provoked similar feelings. Did our shared childhood memories have a similar impact on how we both now experience our lives and remember our past? This brief project was about discovery and similarities.
On the surface, her poem provoked a sense of contentment and nostalgia, yet digging deeper, it made me aware of my connection to the outside world and how easy it is to loose myself to a different reality when the connection is cut-off, turning it into one of delusions.
