Madre, is a project spanning over seven years, where I found myself building an archive of old family snapshots and journaling day-to-day events with pictures I made. I began this project when my mother was diangosed with Alzheimer’s disease, compelled by a need to hold on to her and to make her memory permanent. After my father died I found the visual memories of him started to fade, I did not want the same to happen again. These pictures are part of a series of images which appear in a photobook I am making. It is my form of therapy and what helped me cope.
